Thanks to all those who responded.
In short the software I was referring to is NeWSprint which is currently
availaible from SUN for $495, as I could have found out from Sun if I
could have gotten them to call me back.
The consensus is that the NeXTLaser interface is nonstandard and proprietary
and that they are useful only when attached to a NeXT.
If anyone is interested in more detail I will be glad to forward the most
informative replies.
